RockyRoad Marketing
had
been around since 1978. This small consultancy company has consulted
with large institutions in the development of the World Wide Web (WWW)
on the internet.
As the internet
developed from a service that was used exclusively by the government and
educators to commercial institution it was apparent that there needed to
be some more guidance in which way it was going to go.
The
expertise of regular people is what developed the internet as we know it
today. It was the projects that Ham operators (Amateur Radio) designed that
played a very big role in TCP which is what generally allows our
computers today to network together and this includes the internet.
We
started with Financial institutions and grew into the internet. Having
been one of the companies that First Interstate Bank used to develop the
data backbone. We then progressed into web design and web hosting.
Albeit our company had several hats to wear and several names that we
operated under it all cam down to one company and that was RockyRoad
Marketing.
Our donated services to
disaster services is well documented with letters from Senators,
Congressmen, Governors, Public Safety Directors, American Red Cross,
ARICC, and the Amateur Radio League.
These
services included setting up web sites for agencies to use and our Ham
Operations which we tied into these services. Our latest was Katrina.
